Back in San Francisco.. and the shoulder is stronger!

Back in San Francisco.. and the shoulder is stronger!...

The shoulder is getting better!! Although, I am incredibly careful with it and now limit the amount of ‘paddle work’ that I do. I have managed 20km in the last 3 days, slowly returning to normal. Today was a 2 hour swim, which was meant to be with equipment but the wind was blustery and prevented me from really using my toys. I ended up doing a few coves and practising ‘sighting’ along with breathing.. yes breathing air and not… water!!   All in all a good day. 7Km more tomorrow in the USF pool.. plus a little dip if there is time.   Off to eat some ‘pasta’…...

Lesson learnt!

Lesson learnt!

Back in San Francisco and the training has commenced again after a fun filled two weeks of masquerading as a ‘pin cushion’ at the hands of Siân Baker, physiotherapist and ‘healer of Hampton’, London. It has been frustrating and I have learnt my lesson. “Publicity !! Fame.. lights.. action…..”...

Dear friends, I have made it on to the ‘Free The Children’ website, how amazing. After struggling slowly back from the shoulder injury which is getting better, I needed this boost. http://www.freethechildren.com/2013/08/gary-bruce-swims-the-english-channel-for-change/ Free The Children as you know is my nominated charity. Why? Free The Children believe that young people have the power to change the world. And they are so right. Youth can break barriers that would otherwise prevent them from achieving their fullest potential. “to achieve their fullest potential as agents of change” Free The Children is a high impact and innovative charity. The program is designed to achieve tangible results with a lasting impact on the youth and thus their future. Young people can become the greatest problem solvers. Let ‘them’, the children, make the world a better place. I began this journey with one aim in mind.. The French Coast! It was the single driving motivational force, however, with time this quickly changed. FTC has become very important to me. My goal of matching my personal expenditure of £6000 is becoming more real. Have a look at the donations page which is accessible at the top of the ‘Home Page’ of this blog and click on the Union Flag button. A big thank you to all my sponsors to date… remember satisfaction guaranteed.. Your money goes direct to much needed projects globally and I ‘will’ suffer, you can be assured of...

And tomorrow is review day.. hopefully followed by a test swim. Hurrrrrah...
